Itineraries

Day 1

Arrival and Game Drive

  • Morning:

    • Arrive in Nairobi (usually by flight from Nairobi or by road) and take a flight to Masai Mara (approximately 45 minutes). Alternatively, you could drive from Nairobi, which would take about 5-6 hours.
    • Upon arrival, transfer to your lodge or tented camp in the Masai Mara.
  • Afternoon:

    • After checking in and having lunch, embark on your first game drive in the Masai Mara. This is an opportunity to start spotting the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino) and other wildlife in the area.
  • Evening:

    • Return to the camp or lodge for dinner.

Day 2

Full Day Game Drive

  • Early Morning:

    • Start the day with an early morning game drive. The early hours are the best time to observe predators and other animals before the sun gets too hot. You might catch a lion pride on a hunt or see elephants grazing in the misty morning light.
  • Breakfast:

    • Enjoy a packed breakfast or return to the camp for a meal, depending on the safari itinerary.
  • Late Morning/Afternoon:

    • Continue with the game drive, visiting different parts of the Masai Mara. The Mara River, famous for its annual wildebeest migration, is a must-see.
  • Lunch:

    • Stop for lunch either back at the lodge or enjoy a picnic in the reserve.
  • Evening:

    • Another game drive in the evening, as wildlife is often more active at dusk.

Day 3

Departure

After breakfast, you can enjoy a final game drive. Depending on the time, you might visit a Maasai village to learn about the local culture, traditions, and way of life. The Maasai are famous for their unique customs and vibrant dress. Check out from the lodge and depart to Nairobi.
