The Fabulous Mara Balloon Safari
No visit to the Maasai Mara can be complete without a trip in a hot air balloon which operates from the leading lodges and camps in the reserve. This is similar to the Mara balloon experience except that it takes place in the lovely private sanctuary of Taita hills
Lake Victoria Fishing
An hour’s flight takes you from the Maasai Mara to a fishing center on the shores of Lake Victoria where your well-equipped fishing boat is waiting. Within minutes, you can be locked in a tussle with a Nile perch, and rare is the day that the boat returns empty. For non-fishermen, the birdwatching is magnificent, and little otter and giant monitor lizard scurry along the banks of the islands while the native fishermen carry on their boat-building and fishing activities as they have done for centuries past.
Safari Trail on a Private Basis
Most of the holidays featured in this travel planner are based on regular tours with guaranteed departures and marketed under the name safari trails.
However, there may be many other people who are attracted by the itineraries of our safari trail but who wish to travel privately rather than on a regular departure. This may be because you have a special interest or a personal preference but more often than not it will be because you wish to travel at your own pace and in the exclusive company of family or friends. In such cases we would allocate a vehicle and a driver guide for your personal use. This could be either by utilizing one of our normal safari cruisers or alternatively if you really want something special you can choose our new deluxe safari cruiser. This vehicle is similar to our popular safari cruiser but has been specifically adapted to accommodate four people in the outmost comfort with extra space. Reclining armchairs face each other giving more space to move around to game view, and a fifth person can be accommodated next to the driver guide. The finish is exquisite, offering carpets throughout roll up sunscreens and a sound system for the driver’s commentary. Such exclusive needs to be specifically priced and private safari trails in Kenya involve a percentage supplement on the safari trail price quoted in the price list

Weddings at a Tropical Beach Resort or in a Romantic Tree Lodge
Every couple planning a wedding expects it to be the most unforgettable day of their life and what could be more romantic than to be married on an Indian Ocean beach or in a beautiful forest setting? Weddings in Kenya should be planned well in advance to ensure that the ceremony can be performed on the required date. Every support will be given so that all the formalities are completed with a minimum of involvement of the bride and groom who can relax and enjoy a perfect romantic event.
The wedding will be a civil ceremony similar to one in a registry office but privately performed against a beautiful backdrop.
Weddings take place at either Nyali beach or Shimba tree lodge and the cost will include:
- The special license
- Marriage ceremony and the wedding certificate
- Fees for commissioner of oaths and registrar
- Transport for the registrar
- The bridal bouquet
- The wedding cake
The cost at Shimba also includes transport to Shimba and overnight accommodation as well as game drives in the reserve.
A professional photographer can be arranged at additional cost. Any reasonable special requirements by the bridal couple will be carried out provided suficient6notice is given, and are subject to possible supplementary charges.
